Dartmouth, Etc.
Quick note: Josh, I think that there would be problems with my being that close to Aden...if we got along. Seeing as we never really have, I suspect that if I go to Grinnell, the only times that I'll ever talk much to him would be during practices and games of Ultimate. Meh.
Uh ohes: I told Mark Davis a little earlier tonight that I would find out about Dartmouth tomorrow. I think that I told Betsy (and maybe even John) that, too. Unfortunately, if this is so, then I lied to them all; today, in fact, is the thirtieth, so I checked and found that I've been waitlisted by them today. So...I guess that when the solid stuff arrives, I can send back the little slip saying yeah, I'm still interested to see if enough people'll choose "not you" for me to get in.
...And so I got back from Chicago like...twoish hours ago. Man, was it sweet. But jebus, was it sweet. At least, it was pretty sweet.
Along the car ride back, Betsy and I (she, John, and I stayed the night up there) talked about, among other things, life goals. Here are a few of mine:
- Stay for at least a few months in a foreign country, namely, England, France, or Italy, probably
- Stay for at least a month in a large city in (in all liklihood) an apartment
- Skydive
- Take a real, at least weeklong road trip with a bunch of friends
- Design and spread around at least a bit my own disc
...I could add more, but I think that that was all that I covered then and it's all that I feel like putting down before I fairly crash tonight. We were definitely out late and walked a whole lot (probably farther than I ever ran last cross country season...*cough*), and I was up at nineish (early), so...yeah.
Oh, but to help myself document what we did, food was, in this order:
- Bagely stuff at Panera in West Lafayette on the way up
- Food court-type deal in...Water Tower Place? I believe that that's where it was, but we made it to a few malls and I may be have dislocated this meal.
- Almost Indian, but then very, very nice Italian
- Cool local cafe
- Nice but cutthroat Indian
Sweet, sweet, sweet.
