on the advent of the beginning of an insurmountable challenge...

Current Mood/Status: surprisingly good
Currently Doing: organizing stuff that i'll have to bring to class...in like seven and a half hours
Song of the Day:...i guess i have two; Sleeping In, The Postal Service, because it's been going through my head inexplicable (and, actually, much of them today), and Alms, The Futureheads, because it's an awesome song and...stuff. and because i just acquired their album and decided that they're one of the coolest bands ever--they're like a capella with good instrumentals, and canadian. the vocals and lyrics remind me of a strange mix of, from least to most, franz ferdinand, the arcade fire, and hot hot heat.

...that challenge being moreso the first semester of this school year than the whole year itself, and i've already mostly explained why.

ah, good thing i actually wrote stuff that i wanted to mention on my hand again today.

first thing is adhd. i have a hard enough time concentrating on stuff as it is without expending vast amounts of energy to focus, but without a pen or something, i'd be completely lost. but...i found myself not just spinning my pen, but tapping it really fast and hard on my leg or something while working on that ap bio stuff today. meh. just thought that i'd mention it...oh, and i find it a lot easier to concentrate on reading when i cover my ears and block out ambient sounds. meh. oh, and as a example of this, when i was reading a chapter earlier today, i suddenly realized how i had to keep messing with my pen, and then i thought about how i'd word it if i had to describe it on my blog, as i probably would, and then my eyes strayed over to a picture on the page, and i started reading the caption, then realized that i'd gotten sidetracked, flicked my eyes back to that first paragraph from mid-word, then abruptly went back to the thought path of my blog and the links that i post, to firefox, how i could never do homework with my touchpad (it'd take way, way too long), etc...so long, boringish reading assignements like that one apparently don't work out too well.

so...vitalic. is an incredible band. i love them. they surpass daft punk. well...actually, "Aerodynamic" makes it a close call, but otherwise, they're way up there, now that i've (heard) their whole non-ep album, OK Cowboy.

right, so, this post was supposed to be short, but i started it about half an hour ago, and now it's late and i'll get no more than seven hours of sleep. so...'night.

oh, right, and two articles: one on handheld education in kenya, and another on a new, much cooler periodic table.
